Driven by an insatiable curiosity, our intrepid band of heroes delved into the shadowy recesses of the Sunless Citadel they had only dared to glimpse before. In the remote northern reaches, they stumbled upon a forsaken den, long barred by the original adventurers who had come before them. Within the darkened lair, they confronted a nightmarish sight: a colossal, grotesque rat, its body ravaged by disease and malice. A fierce battle ensued, with the heroes fighting valiantly against the monstrous matron and her wretched brood.

When the dust settled and silence reigned, they uncovered a grim site—remains of the fallen ranger, Karakas, one of the original adventuring party…

• The heroes kept to their ward and have heaped shinnies on the rescued baby dragon.
• Discovered the first lost ring carried by Karakas. When the ring was licked up by Karakas name vanished and was replaced with Altogons name.
• They Discovered the “legendary” Knife of Cake! (see below).
• Our heroes decided Moe should return with To’Vosh to the town of Oakhurst.
• After a brief respite the heroes returned to the main goblin area, and were able to intimidate the current guards. After a rather short-lived battle the guard captain took flight.
• One goblin remained all to eager to trade information to have his life spared.

Magic Item: The Cakeblade

Item Type: Magical Knife

Description: The Cakeblade is a beautifully crafted knife with a shimmering, iridescent blade that seems to change colors in the light. The hilt is adorned with intricate frosting-like patterns, and the handle feels warm to the touch, reminiscent of freshly baked goods.

Properties:

1. Cake Cutting: Any object that the Cakeblade cuts instantly transforms into a cake of the same shape and size. The flavor is determined by the wielder’s intent—vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, etc.
2. Flavor Choice: Once per day, the wielder can choose a specific flavor for the cakes produced by the knife, allowing for a variety of delicious options.
3. Cake Creation: The Cakeblade can create a single slice of cake (1 foot in diameter) from any material it cuts, which can be consumed. Eating the cake restores 1d4 hit points twice per day.
4. Sweet Aroma: The knife emits a sweet aroma that can distract enemies. Once per long rest, the wielder can use the knife to create a 15-foot radius of sweet scent, imposing disadvantage on enemies’ perception checks for 1 minute.
5. Baker’s Blessing: The wielder gains proficiency in baking and pastry-making tools while wielding the Cakeblade.

Cursed Aspect: If the wielder uses the knife to harm another creature, they must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 20) or become overwhelmed by a desire to bake, taking a -2 penalty on attack rolls until they spend an hour baking or consuming cake.

Attunement: Requires attunement by a character with a good alignment.
